The Train from Philadelphia to Atlantic City

Once at 30th street station in Philadelphia, you can make a connection to Atlantic city on New Jersey transport.

Tickets can be picked up at the Amtrak Ticket booths, or purchased on the train. However, it is worth noting that if you buy a ticket on board here will be a $5 additional fee and you can only pay with cash. In addition, if you buy on board, you might need to know that notes over $20 are not accepted

The train journey from Philadelphia into Atlantic city generally takes between 90and 100 minutes, depending on the time you go.

The ride down to Atlantic city is pretty interesting, especially for those from foreign parts. The journey begins by going through some pretty run down areas. Areas that once saw better times, with a few magnificent old buildings being left to crumble, interspersed with some still working industrial buildings, and sub-standard housing  offer an insight into the way life is for the less fortunate.

As you cross over the river, you are suddenly in whole new world. Large detached gardens, leafy areas of forest line the south bank of the river. The juxtaposition of then wealthier cherry hill area being quite remarkable in comparison to the accommodation north of the river.

Arriving into Atlantic city, you will find yourself at the convention centre station, which is centrally located, so only a short taxi ride (or even a walk) to most destinations in Atlantic city
