Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City

As far as historic buildings go, Absecon Lighthouse is one of the 'must see' sights to be found in Atlantic City.

The facts really do speak for themselves here - the lighthouse is over 150 years old, having been first lit in 1857, it is the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey and the 3rd tallest in the country.

The most exciting thing about the Absecon Lighthouse is that you actually allowed to climb it, right to the top. The lighthouse is open to the public, during both the tourist and non-tourist seasons.

If you are able to climb right to the top (which is 228 steps), then you will be given a certificate to commemorate your feat.

If you would like to find out more and also, to get a money-off voucher for the lighthouse, visit their website at http://www.abseconlighthouse.org
